Karen has been an Accountant, Registered Tax Agent and Financial Adviser for over 25 years. Her Bachelor of Business Degree was completed in 1994 and study to become a Certified Practising Accountant [CPA] was finalised in 2001. Also holding the CPA Financial Planning Specialist [FPS] designation – gained in 2002.
Setting up Practice on her own in 1994 was incredibly daunting but ultimately rewarding. Hard work and dedication with wonderful clients meant Cottesloe Retirement Planning thrived. Karen’s clients continue to value her honesty, integrity, attention to detail and competence. She will always put her client’s best interests first and is committed to maintaining her Professional knowledge and skills so as to provide the best possible advice.
A new chapter began in December 2019 when the practice merged with Tilenni Stiles.
Joining such a large team of passionate Professional’s creates new opportunities and ensures clients needs will continue to be met – well into the future.
A great lover of nature – Karen enjoys nothing more than a wander in the New Zealand bush. Owning a bach in Queenstown for 10 years meant plenty of time for adventures on the Milford and Routeburn Tracks and in the Abel Tasman National Park. But treks have included to Makalu base camp in Nepal, Kangshung Face of Everest in Tibet, Inca Trail in Peru, Torres del Paine – The W trek in Chile and a week on the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Along the way were swims with turtles in the Galapagos and Borneo, with penguins in Antarctica and sharks at Cottesloe.
Restricted travel in 2020 – you’ll now find Karen discussing the meaning of life with her cat Basil over a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir.
